Origin story

Common Folk Vintage is a small business run by me, Esther Miner, where I specialize in reworking unique textiles.

With a focus on sustainability, I have been creating one-of-a-kind bags and garments from secondhand materials. The idea for Common Folk Vintage was born when I found a lot of 8 quilts in a local auction; they were well-loved and worn. The quilts were in perfect condition to be repurposed into everyday items - thus the name, Common Folk.

Based in Oakland, CA

Stitched with care

After making several quilts myself, I have a deep appreciation for the craft and want to expand quilt knowledge into the wider community. I am loving the opportunity to share reworked items with the San Francisco Bay Area.
